ARCHITECT

Are you looking for an architectural home where you can develop your career to the next level?

Hall Black Douglas are looking for individuals who have a passion for architecture and the skill set to deliver quality projects for our clients. Due to projects commencing and progressing in 2024, we are looking for architects at a variety of career stages who are willing to take personal responsibility for their work, within a supportive studio environment.

You would be joining a team of twenty people, working on a wide variety of projects across multiple sectors. Current projects include: Conservation, Health, Leisure, Social Housing, Masterplanning, etc.

Ideally we are looking for an architect who has successfully delivered projects to a high technical standard whilst retaining the original architectural intent. However, we are open to developing early career architects’ potential within the practice and providing opportunities, so attitude and demonstrated ability are equally important to us.

 

We would encourage applications for this permanent role from those that meet the requirements below:

Essential Criteria:

ARB or RIAI Registered

Demonstration of architectural presentation, design and technical understanding

Desirable Criteria:

Excellent Communication Skills

Proven competency in the delivery of high quality architectural projects

Demonstration of professional training/development post qualification

Delivery of projects using BIM Level 2

Production of detailed Construction Drawing and Specification Packages 

Contract Administration of Completed Projects at Construction Stage (UK/Ireland)

Experience of UK or Ireland Contracts

UK/EU Driving Licence

CONSERVATION ARCHITECT

 

Hall Black Douglas are seeking an experienced Conservation Architect as part of the development of our Conservation team. Building on the success of recent projects and the Architects’ Journal Award for Heritage Project and Heritage Angels Award for Bank Buildings in 2023, we already have a variety of ongoing conservation projects commencing in 2024. 

The architect should have conservation accreditation (RIBA/RIAI).

Hall Black Douglas are looking for individuals who have a passion for architecture and the skill set to deliver quality projects for our clients. You would be joining a supportive studio environment with a team of twenty people. We are looking for an architect who has successfully delivered conservation projects to a high technical standard.

Essential Criteria:

In depth Conservation knowledge

Excellent Communication Skills

Experience of Historic Building Condition Reports and Dimensional Surveys

Proven competency in the delivery of high quality architectural projects

Demonstration of professional training/development post qualification

Production of detailed Construction Drawing and Specification Packages 

Contract Administration of Completed Projects at Construction Stage (UK/Ireland)

Experience of UK or Ireland Contracts

RIBA Conservation Architect Accreditation or Equivalent.

UK/EU Driving Licence
