Helen’s Bay

Former Railway Station Restoration

Conservation

View Gallery

This project involved the conservation and conversion of the derelict 1863 Grade A Listed railway station at Helen’s Bay, Co Down into a Day Spa with new private living accommodation at basement level. The station is in the grand Scottish Baronial style and was the creation of Lord Dufferin, through whose land the railway line was laid. The station sits on the live main Belfast to Bangor line adding a further dimension to the works on site. This inventive reuse and restoration of the building has safe guarded its future and has had a positive impact on the adjoining square.
