The former St.Patricks Barracks site is to be developed by Radius Housing to provide 135no. homes. The form and scale create a modern version of a traditional terrace house. The variety of house types and the relationship between them, the streets and open spaces enhances the quality and identity of this new residential environment. The architecture allows the spaces between houses to become tree–lined avenues, crescents, courtyards, lanes and greens with dense landscape buffers proposed to the eastern and western boundaries to soften the transition to the surroundings. Our intention is to reflect the unique character of the site as a threshold between the rural, open landscape and the denser urban grain of Ballymena.
