EastSide Visitor Centre provides a new heart to the Holywood Arches area of Belfast. It is a cafe, gallery and interpretive centre reflecting the history, traditions and accomplishments of those who hail from the east of the city. It opens onto CS Lewis Square and sits at the junction of the Connswater and Comber Greenways. It forms part of a wider regeneration strategy outlined in Holywood Arches: Towards a Sustainable Urban Neighbourhood by Hall Black Douglas. Based on an original design and planning approval by Hall McKnight, Hall Black Douglas were involved from RIBA Stage 3, submitting a revised planning application through to detailed design and completion onsite. This included the interior design and co–ordination of interpretive design and signage.
