EastSide Visitor Centre provides a new heart to the Holywood Arches area of Belfast. It is a cafe, gallery and interpretive centre reflecting the history, traditions and accomplishments of those who hail from the east of the city. It opens onto CS Lewis Square and sits at the junction of the Connswater and Comber Greenways. It forms part of a wider regeneration strategy outlined in Holywood Arches: Towards a Sustainable Urban Neighbourhood by Hall Black Douglas.
An earlier RIBA Stage 2 design concept was completed by Hall McKnight. Further to changes to the brief and design development, a new planning application was submitted.
The appointment included all works to completion including the interior design and co–ordination of interpretive design and signage.
